Tamara Roshka was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Growing up in the local production industry from working with her editor and director father, and her photographer/ jewelry designer mother, and painter grandmother - her path developed to follow in the visual arts footsteps of her family. Graduating from the University of Manitoba School of Fine Arts in 2010, she has worked on numerous film and TV projects and was mentored by cinematographer Barry Lank, CSC until his passing in 2020. Currently, Tamara advocates for gender equality on film sets and enjoys teaching younger generations interested in the industry.

Tamara has had numerous successful solo art exhibitions over the years, which highlight her sky paintings and photography which is a backbone for her work as a cinematographer. Using her Fine Arts background, Tamara takes great care in her artistic expression through the camera lens. Her art has developed over the years to most recently include her ceramic art which she studied avidly in University. Her paintings and ceramics are now all over Canada, and the productions she has worked on have aired all over the world. Her creative passion is evident in every area of her multi-disciplined background, and she is continuing to try to learn and grow in these creative fields.
